Exploring the intersection of painting, sculpture and installation, Gary Schlingheider reduces form to its most essential lines. His minimalist pillars, composed of sleek, powder-coated aluminium, play with proportion, color and perception. Standing upright like abstract markers in space, they shift as viewers move around them, becoming both objects and spatial drawings. Influenced by Hard Edge painting, Constructivism and Minimalism, Schlingheider focuses on the visual and aesthetic experience of form, transforming simplicity into presence and inviting us to reconsider how we move through and perceive space.

In his artistic practice Gary Schlingheider (b. 1983, Germany) deals with the synthesis of painting, sculpture and installation art. He explores linear forms and effects in space, playing with reduction and perception. In doing so, he experiments with a variety of materials and techniques, including canvas, steel, aluminum, acrylic, lacquer, and space itself.
